During the week before Chinese New Year Break, a talk show was held at room 104 by ICF. It was hosted by Andrew Tan and Yi Herng with 2 special guests from FES, Michael and Young Eng. The talk show has the similar concept of the famous Oprah Winfrey talk show. It was likely to be more of questions asked by students to people who work closely with students, reaching out to students. And Michael and Young Eng are 2 experience people in this field.
We learned that to reach out people, we may face a lot of obstacles. People may just turn us away. But we should have faith in it, as we know that everything has its own timing. By the mean time, we should try to equip ourself at least with some basic bible knowledge as people may ask us about what Christianity is, apa ini, apa itu ...blah blah blah .... We can always ask our pastors, friends and family members in order to get more knowledge in it. Examples were given as well. Michael and Young Eng told us how they solved their problems during their time reaching out as a student. Eva shared her experience with us in this area. The talk show was really meaningful for ICF as our theme for this semester is reaching out and building up.
